What are the most important signs of the approaching Day of Judgment, and on which day of the week and at what hour will it commence?

The knowledge of the Hour's advent is something Allah has kept exclusively to Himself. However, signs indicating its closeness have been mentioned. As for its specific day and hour, it has been reported that it will occur on a Friday, between dawn and sunrise. This is based on the hadith narrated by Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him), where the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "The best day on which the sun rises is Friday; on it Adam was created, on it he was sent down [from Paradise], on it his repentance was accepted, on it he died, and on it the Hour will be established. And there is no creature but it becomes silent on Friday from the time it wakes up until the sun rises, for fear of the Hour, except for jinn and humans."
