The answer

To treat chest tightness and worries, one must resort to the divinely prescribed remedies. Tribulation can be a punishment for sins, calling for repentance, or it can be a means of elevating ranks and expiating sins, in which case patience, seeking reward from Allah, and increasing acts of obedience are required. To strengthen self-confidence and optimism, a Muslim should cling to faith, acquire and act upon religious knowledge, overcome past pains, forgive their parents, not compare themselves to those who are better off, take Prophet Muhammad as an example, associate with people of high aspirations, seek refuge in Allah from Satan, and adhere to supplication.
