What is the difference between an action written on paper and a written amulet (hirz) that consists of tables and Quranic verses written on the edges of the paper?

Following the methodology of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, is achieved by obeying his commands and avoiding his prohibitions. Every action that contravenes his guidance is null and void. A Muslim must be cautious of ruqya (incantations) and amulets that might fall into sorcery and polytheism (shirk). The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, commanded that necklaces and strings be cut from camels because of the shirk associated with them, for benefit and harm are solely in the hand of Allah. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, considered ruqya, amulets, and tiwala (charms that cause love or hate) to be shirk. Therefore, one must avoid the "science of the جدول" (a specific form of divination/calculation) and refer to experts in legitimate ruqya.
