How can it be understood that "none can harm except Allah" and "none can benefit except Allah," while harm or benefit may come from humans?

The meaning of "there is none who can harm or benefit save Allah" is that no one can inflict harm or bring benefit to another unless Allah has decreed it for them. This is as stated in the Hadith: "Know that if the whole nation were to gather together to benefit you with something, they would not benefit you except with something that Allah had already written for you, and if they were to gather to harm you with something, they would not harm you except with something that Allah had already written against you." Allah alone is the complete and independent source of benefit and harm, as He (the Most High) said: "And if Allah should touch you with adversity, there is none to remove it except Him; and if He intends for you good, then there is no repeller of His bounty. He causes it to reach whom He wills of His servants. And He is the Forgiving, the Merciful." As for others, they can neither benefit nor harm except by Allah's permission.
