What is the ruling on dealing with a singer, eating at his place, and accepting gifts from him? And can he purify his money earned from singing? And is it better to build a house for the family or to buy a private house for the wife and children?

Companionship affects a person, and a Muslim should choose righteous companions. The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "A person is on the religion of his intimate friend, so let each of you look at whom he befriends." One should not associate with those whose livelihood depends on unlawful singing, except with the intention of offering advice and inviting them to repentance. It is not permissible to eat their food if they have no source of livelihood other than the unlawful. However, if they have a permissible source, most scholars dislike eating with someone whose lawful wealth is mixed with unlawful wealth, without prohibiting it.

A wife has the right to a separate dwelling from her family and her husband's family if she desires it, and the husband must provide it. If the spouses agree to reside with one of their families, there is no harm as long as it does not involve any disobedience.
