The Prophet's name, peace and blessings be upon him, is "the Laugher, the Fighter," two combined names. He is a laugher in the faces of the believers, and a fighter against the enemies of God. A group of scholars, including Sheikh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah, Ibn Kathir, and Ibn al-Qayyim, mentioned these two names, though no musnad (supported by a chain of narrators) marfu' (traced back to the Prophet) hadith has been reported to affirm them. Ibn Faris narrated from Ibn Abbas that the name of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, in the Torah is "the Laugher, the Fighter."
