Will the wronged have a right against the transgressor on the Day of Judgment if unable to retaliate, and will his right be forfeited by not seeking retribution or forgiveness? And if he exacts retribution in this world, will he have no right remaining in the Hereafter? And what is the best response to someone who utters insults touching one's honor or engages in mockery?

If a person has been wronged and is unable to retaliate against the oppressor due to incapacity, their right is preserved. However, if a person retaliates against their oppressor in this world, they have exacted their right and will not receive the reward for forgiveness in the Hereafter. Retaliation in kind is not permissible for insulting parents or for slander. In these cases, it is preferable to ignore and forgive. As for mockery and insulting those other than parents, retaliation in kind is permissible.
