What is the ruling of Sharia on my husband and I breaking our fast on a day in Ramadan due to taking medication and injections for an IVF procedure, as well as my husband ejaculating for the fertilization of the eggs, knowing that this can only be done during the day?

We do not see in artificial insemination a necessity that permits breaking the fast in Ramadan if it is possible to postpone it until after Ramadan, in order to preserve the sanctity of the month and its complete fasting. However, if it is impossible to secure an appointment after Ramadan, or if the appointment is delayed significantly such that it defeats the purpose of procreation, then there is no objection to performing it in Ramadan due to need. And whoever breaks their fast because of it must make up that day.
