The answer

The majority of scholars hold that it is recommended to consult a virgin. If her guardian (father or grandfather) marries her off without her consent, the marriage is valid. However, if any other guardian marries her off, her consent is necessary.

Abu Hanifa believes that it is not permissible to compel an adult virgin to marry, even if the one compelling her is her father or grandfather. However, if the fiancée agrees to the contract despite her reluctance, the marriage is valid according to him.

The advises deliberation and accepting the man if he is religious and has good character, as being a student of knowledge is not a flaw. It also recommends performing Istikhara (prayer for guidance) and consulting righteous people.

Regarding the mentioned case, the marriage contract has already been concluded. The Hanafis stipulate that if an adult virgin is married off by her guardian without her knowledge, and she later receives the news, she has the option to annul the marriage or validate the contract.
