What is the ruling on one who comes to a soothsayer and asks Allah to inspire the soothsayer and reveal to him the matter inquired about, and then believes him in what he says?

Consulting a soothsayer or a diviner is forbidden and considered a major sin, based on the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "Whoever goes to a soothsayer or a diviner and believes what he says, has disbelieved in what was revealed to Muhammad." A soothsayer is one who claims knowledge of the unseen and secrets. What the diviner mentioned is a deception to distance himself from the accusation of divination and sorcery.
