What is the ruling of Islamic law on the marriage of a Muslim young man to a girl whose social status is higher than his?

If a man is able to provide the bridal gift (mahr), cover the marriage expenses, and financially support his wife, then he is her equal. The preponderant view from the evidence is that compatibility (kafa'ah) is considered only in matters of religion. Disparities in social standing, such as lineage, wealth, education, or profession, do not cause harm. For "a Muslim woman is not married to a disbeliever, nor a chaste woman to a dissolute person." However, if there is a significant disparity in social standing between the spouses, it may lead to future problems.
