Is a husband considered a pimp (dayyuth) if he allows his wife to work to pay off her parents' debts, or does forcing her to quit her job make him selfish?
The basic principle regarding women working is permissibility, as long as there is no evidence prohibiting it, and provided that the conditions for women's work are met. A girl's eagerness to financially assist her parents is a sign of her filial piety. It is possible to stipulate that she works for a specific period and then leaves the job, because the default is for a woman to remain in her home, in accordance with the Almighty's saying: "And abide in your houses." If the girl adheres to the regulations of women's work and the conditions for its permissibility, then the husband is not a cuckold for allowing her to work. It must be known that before the marriage contract, she is a stranger (non-), so seclusion with her is not permissible, and she is not bound by the suitor's commands.
