The answer

For the mufrid (one performing Hajj only) and the qarin (one performing Hajj and combined with one ), it is permissible to perform the sa'y (ritual walking) of Hajj after the al-Qudum (arrival circumambulation) on the eighth day. As for the mutamatti' (one performing Umrah then Hajj, each with a separate ihram), it is not permissible for him to do so, as he has two sa'ys (one for his Umrah and one for his Hajj), and the sa'y for his Hajj comes after the Tawaf al-Ifadah (main circumambulation). The Tawaf al-Ifadah, the stoning of the , the standing at Arafat, and the staying overnight at Muzdalifah—none of these may be performed early on the eighth day. The hadi (sacrificial animal) for Tamattu' and , and the obligatory hadi, must be slaughtered in Mecca and is not valid elsewhere. Hadi is the name for what is offered to the (sacred precinct), and its slaughtering therein is an exaltation of the rituals of Allah, and also for the performance of the rites. It is not obligatory for a person to slaughter his hadi himself; he may appoint a trustworthy and honest person to do so on his behalf.
