Were the winged horses mentioned by Aisha, may Allah be pleased with her, in the Hadith truly present during the time of Solomon, peace be upon him?

Neither the Quran nor the Sunnah contains any evidence proving that Solomon (peace be upon him) possessed winged horses. Rather, these are statements made by some exegetes when interpreting the verse: (When, in the late afternoon, there were presented to him the high-bred, swift horses) [Surat Sad: 31]. Some of them said they were twenty winged horses, while others said they were twenty thousand horses.

As for the hadith of Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), which states: "Have you not heard that Solomon had horses with wings?" This indicates that she did not hear it from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), as evidenced by his exclamation: "A horse with two wings?" It is possible that this was something the people of Madinah heard from the People of the Book, and the Prophet's (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) silence regarding it and his not denying it falls under the prohibition of either believing or disbelieving the People of the Book concerning matters for which no revelation has been sent down.
