Did the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) stay up late during Ramadan?

It was not the Prophet's practice to stay up in the early part of the night. Rather, he would sleep after 'Isha, then wake up and spend the latter part of the night in worship. This is the most balanced and beneficial sleep for the body. As for the last ten nights of , his practice was to revive most of the night with worship, and it is possible that he revived the entire night.
