Is the rock in Jerusalem suspended in mid-air, and have authentic narrations been reported from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, concerning it?

The rock in Jerusalem is not suspended between the sky and the earth, and everything narrated about it tilting to ascend with the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and angels holding it, is among the well-known fabrications. Al-Alusi mentioned that this is one of the fabrications, and Ibn al-Qayyim said that every hadith about the rock is a fabricated lie. Moreover, observable reality disproves the claim of its suspension, for if it were so, people would see it.
