What is the ruling on someone repeatedly saying: "Living in this house is forbidden for me until death"?

If a man forbids himself something lawful, its ruling is that of an oath (yameen), and he must offer expiation (kaffarah) for an oath if he breaks it, due to the Almighty's saying: (O Prophet, why do you prohibit what Allah has made lawful for you, seeking to please your wives? And Allah is Forgiving and Merciful. Allah has already ordained for you the dissolution of your oaths). It has been narrated from Ibn Mas'ud and others among the Companions and Successors that prohibiting what is lawful is an oath for which expiation is due. If he repeats the oath concerning one thing and has not offered expiation for the first oath, then only one expiation is required of him.
