Is it permissible to say "I am the god of mathematics" or similar phrases with the intention of excelling in mathematics, not with the intention of divinity? And what is the ruling if the intention is sound? And what are the consequences if the speaker is mistaken?

The word holds immense significance in Islam; through it, a servant may exit Islam, or rise in ranks, or plunge into Hell. A person's statement about themselves, "I am the god of mathematics," is an immoral, repulsive word, and it is feared that it could expel them from the religion of Islam, due to their self-praise and belief that they are the god of this science. The term "god" is not rightfully applied to anyone but Allah the Almighty alone, for He alone is worthy of worship. This resemblance of his is akin to the actions of polytheists. Therefore, he must repent.
