Who is obligated to pay the monetary expiation (kaffarah) for a non-working woman who does not possess independent wealth: her husband or her father? Or should she fast due to not possessing wealth? And who is responsible for feeding her when he is able?

If a financial expiation (kaffarah) is incumbent upon a woman, she is personally responsible for it, and the ability considered for feeding (the poor) is her own capacity.

Among the situations where a financial expiation becomes incumbent upon a woman are:

1. Expiation for breaking an oath (kaffarat al-yamin). 2. Expiation for delaying the making up of missed Ramadan fasts until the next Ramadan begins. 3. Expiation for intentional sexual intercourse during Ramadan if she willingly consented to her husband. 4. Expiation for accidental killing.
