What is the ruling on saying, "By divorce, you have never eaten food like this before"?

A Muslim is not permitted to swear by other than Allah, and this includes swearing by divorce, which is an act of the wicked and foolish and jeopardizes the marriage. If the matter sworn upon by divorce is true as sworn, then the divorce does not occur. However, if it is not true and the swearer believes it to be so, there is a difference of opinion among scholars regarding the occurrence of divorce, but the correct view is that it does not occur.
