What is the ruling on distributing foods called "the long loaf" after a person's death?
Scholars have agreed upon the reprehensibility of people gathering for food in the house of the deceased or one of their relatives if the motive for the gathering is something connected to death. As for giving food as charity on behalf of the deceased without people gathering, there is no harm in it, and we hope its reward reaches him.
