Is it permissible to honor the mother whom the father divorced, and who obtained her divorce certificate through false testimonies in order to remarry?
Filial piety is obligatory in all circumstances, whether parents are obedient or disobedient, due to their great virtue. The Holy Quran has associated honoring them with the Oneness of Allah. Therefore, you must honor your mother and treat her kindly. If you witness any wrongdoing from her, advise her respectfully. If she does not accept, then pray for her guidance.
As for her marriage to a man younger than her, there is no objection to it if the marriage contract is valid and fulfills the conditions, after her first divorce and the completion of her (waiting period).
Honoring the mother and treating her kindly is obligatory even if she is immoral or an unbeliever, as Allah Almighty says: "But if they endeavor to make you associate with Me that of which you have no knowledge, do not obey them but accompany them in [this] world with appropriate kindness."
