Is charity in Ramadan better than at other times, and does the deceased know about the charity given on their behalf?

Ramadan is a month of competing in acts of obedience, and charity in it is superior to charity at other times. The proof for this is that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, was most generous in Ramadan. There are weak hadiths and narrations from the Salaf that indicate the deceased's awareness of the reward of charity, but refraining from delving into these unseen matters is more appropriate and safer.
