Does a Muslim man's fast become void if something is discharged from him while he is awake during the day in Ramadan?

If semen is discharged during the daytime in Ramadan, the fast is invalidated, and one must make up that day without expiation. If the discharge is madhy (prostatic fluid), the fast remains valid.
