What should be known about the divine attributes of Power and Will, especially concerning issues such as: Is God able to punish His prophet? And is God able to make two males from the children of Adam marry each other and then produce a child?

Do not worry about the whisperings [waswas], and it is sufficient for you to believe that Allah is All-Powerful over everything, and that what Allah wills comes to pass, and what He does not will does not come to pass. Allah's power and will relate to possibilities, not impossibilities. Impossibility is divided into two types: that which is impossible in itself (li-dhatihi), and to this, power does not relate at all; and that which is impossible due to something else (li-ghayrihi), and to this, power can relate. An example of what is impossible in itself is for Allah to create another like Himself. An example of what is impossible due to something else is the splitting of the moon for the Prophet (peace be upon him); this is impossible due to something else, not in itself, because Allah is capable of it.
