Is wearing a blue bead for adornment only, without believing in its benefit or its repelling of the evil eye and envy, considered forbidden?

Hanging the blue bead is a type of forbidden amulet, and amulets are polytheism (shirk). If the one who hangs it believes that it is a means to ward off or repel affliction, then it is minor shirk. However, if he believes that it repels or removes affliction by itself, then it is major shirk. If it is hung solely for adornment, without believing that it has any effect in warding off the evil eye, then there is no harm in it. Nevertheless, it should be avoided if it is widespread in the country that it is for repelling the evil eye, in order to avoid imitating its people and incurring ill suspicion.
