The child must be washed if he emerges stained with blood, because it is impure and the impurity on him must be removed. This is the preponderant of the two opinions of scholars. Similarly, anything that affects the doctor or others from the blood must be washed, unless it is a small amount that is excused. As for other fluids accompanying the child's emergence, their purity is the preponderant opinion.
