It is obligatory to suppress the soul's desires for disobedience (sins) and to keep away from them, and to seek refuge in Allah from Satan, and to remember the danger of sins. There is no harm in performing Ruqyah (Islamic exorcism) on oneself with the lawful Ruqyah, or seeking Ruqyah from someone whose benefit has been proven and who is known for righteousness and adherence to the Sunnah. Lawful Ruqyah is permissible whether the person is afflicted or not.
