Are there abrogated Hadiths? And where can I find them?

1 min readAlso available in العربية

The default rule is that there is no abrogation (naskh) in the texts of divine revelation, namely the Holy Quran and the noble prophetic Sunnah. Nevertheless, there is no doubt that abrogation does exist in both. Among the abrogated hadiths are the Prophet’s prohibition (peace be upon him) of visiting graves and of storing sacrificial meat, which he later permitted, as narrated by Muslim and others. Books have been authored on abrogated hadiths, such as "Nasikh al-Hadith wa Mansukhuh" by Ibn Shahin and Ibn al-Jawzi.
