If the triple divorce occurs, the wife becomes irrevocably separated from her husband, and she does not become lawful for him until she marries another man out of genuine desire and he then separates from her. The divorce of a menstruating woman is valid according to the majority of jurists, and the divorcer must repent of his sin. Taking witnesses for reconciliation (revocation) is commendable but not obligatory. Divorcing a wife during a period of purity in which he has not touched her is a Sunnah divorce, but if he has touched her during that period, it is an innovative (bid'i) divorce, yet still valid. There are important matters related to divorce, including that the Sunnah regarding divorcing a menstruating woman is to reconcile with her until she becomes pure, and that carelessness in divorce is unacceptable, and that the person concerned must consult scholars or the Sharia court to clarify how the divorce occurred.
