What should I do with the money (approximately 2000 USD) in a wallet I found in China belonging to a Jordanian person, given that I left China a week later and am now in Palestine?

This wallet and its contents are considered lost property, not a "luqatah" (found item), because a "luqatah" is a valuable lost item whose owner is unknown to the finder. The identity of the owner of this wallet is known, and the obligation upon taking it is to promptly search for its owner. As for what must now be done regarding this money, one should refer to Fatwa No. 51254.
