We have clarified that there is no sin upon one who refrains from picking up a lost item (Luqatah) to protect his honor from accusation. As for a trivial amount of money that its owner would not pursue, it is permissible to pick it up and benefit from it without announcing it. However, if it is of value, it must be announced in places where its owner might be found. And if one refrains from picking it up to avoid evil, there is no sin upon him.
