Is refraining from listening to religious and scientific programs that contain music, and refusing to shake hands with non-mahram women, considered extremism that might alienate people from religion, especially if shaking hands is a means of guiding a non-mahram woman?

Music is among the reprehensible things that are not permissible to listen to, under the pretext that not listening to it might alienate people from religion. For the Sacred Law commands the denunciation of evil or the departure from its place. It is not permissible for a person to willingly attend gatherings of evil without necessity, just as it is not permissible for a man to shake hands with a woman who is a stranger to him under the pretext that she might become alienated from Islam. For inviting to Allah is not done by committing what Allah has forbidden.
