Are not morals mentioned in the Book and the Sunnah, so why would I need a scholar to learn honesty, trustworthiness, or generosity, which are the cornerstones of good character?

The Quran and Sunnah are the foundation of good manners and character, and Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) is the role model for Muslims in his character and conduct. The role of the Rabbani scholar is to educate people and teach them Islamic ethics. He nurtures people with the smaller matters of knowledge before the larger ones, and he teaches them, guides them, and rectifies their affairs with the knowledge he has acquired and acted upon.

The influence of righteous companionship is important, for a righteous companion affects the character of his associate, imparting good manners and proper conduct. There are manners and ethics that require deep understanding and wisdom from the scholar to be applied correctly, such as knowing when to exercise forbearance or boldness.

The Rabbani scholar teaches people, through his experience and wisdom, what they need in matters of character, piety, and conduct. He guides them in the intricate details of rulings related to truthfulness, lying, trustworthiness, and other matters, thereby sparing them from falling into errors.
