The answer

If the insurance is commercial, and it is forbidden, then the contract must be canceled and the money paid must be reclaimed. If only the amount paid after retirement can be reclaimed, then zakat for the past years must be paid upon its receipt, if it reaches the nisab, and this is the more cautious view. The Malikis believe that zakat is to be paid on it for one year upon its receipt, while the Hanafis believe that zakat is not to be paid on it until a year has passed from its receipt.
