What is the ruling on employees taking distilled water from laboratory equipment for their cars, under the pretext that people are partners in three things?

It is not permissible for employees to take distilled water from laboratory equipment for their personal use, as it is safeguarded property belonging to the employer, and it is not permissible to take it without their permission. The Hadith, "People are partners in three things: water, pasture, and fire," applies to water that is not safeguarded, by agreement of the jurists. Water that is safeguarded in a vessel or basin becomes private property.
