The answer

The ruling here revolves around the benefit of concealing the student's situation versus the harm of him remaining in a place more deserving for others. It would have been more appropriate to consider his condition and whether he is fit for study. If so, he should be concealed, for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Whoever conceals a Muslim, Allah will conceal him in this world and the Hereafter." It is not permissible to expose him except for a valid purpose and an overriding benefit, such as when his harm extends to others, or his remaining in study is at the expense of others who are more deserving of the place. If reporting him was your own judgment, we hope there is no blame upon you for that, but what has been mentioned should be taken into account in the future when enjoining good and forbidding evil.
