What is the situation of previous believing nations concerning the questions of the grave, and what is their share of acts of worship and legal dispensations, and is the phrase: "I am pleased with Allah as my Lord, with Islam as my religion, and with Muhammad (peace be upon him) as a Prophet and Messenger" restricted to the nation of Muhammad, and will those who believed in previous messengers be resurrected with the nation of Muhammad (peace be upon him)?

Scholars have differed on whether the questioning in the grave is specific to this nation or general. If it is general, it is not far-fetched that every nation will be questioned about its prophet.

As for acts of worship: Prayer (Salat), charity (Zakat), and fasting (Sawm) were legislated in previous nations, as indicated by Quranic verses and prophetic traditions. An example of this is Allah Almighty's saying about Jesus, peace be upon him: "And He has enjoined upon me prayer and charity as long as I remain alive" (Maryam:31), and His saying about fasting: "Fasting has been prescribed for you as it was prescribed for those before you" (Al-Baqarah:183).

As for polygamy: It was known in previous nations, like Solomon, peace be upon him, who had a large number of wives.

As for Istikhara (guidance prayer), Ruqyah (exorcism), and Dhikr (remembrance of Allah): Not much detail has been reported in the texts, except what is confirmed about Abraham seeking refuge for his two sons with "I seek refuge with the perfect words of Allah."

As for the Gathering (Hashr): All nations will be gathered on one plain, and they will seek intercession from the prophets. People will begin with Adam, peace be upon him, then Noah, then Abraham, then Moses, then Jesus, peace be upon them all, until they reach Prophet Muhammad, may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him, to intercede for them with their Lord.
