When is it obligatory to make up prayers (qadaa') if one has wiped over a splint (جبيرة)?

Wiping over a splint (jabirah) is permissible when it is impossible to wash the injured limb or for fear of harm. Whoever prays after performing a permissible wiping, their prayer is valid and they are not required to repeat it. However, if someone wipes over a splint in a way that is not permissible, such as wiping over a healthy limb without need, then their ablution is invalid, their prayer is incorrect, and they are required to repeat it.
