What is the ruling regarding a man divorcing his wife with a first pronouncement, followed by a second pronouncement after an argument between them?

If you have divorced your wife, with whom you have consummated the marriage, twice, then these two divorces count against you, whether they occurred consecutively or separately, and whether or not there was a رجعة (revocation) or a new marriage contract between them. This is the view of the majority of scholars. If your divorce was not for a financial consideration and you had not divorced her before these two divorces, then your divorce is revocable (طلاق رجعي), and you are permitted to take your wife back before the expiry of her iddah (waiting period).
