What is the ruling of the Shari'ah regarding a Muslim man marrying a woman who converted to Islam and has a child from a previous non-Muslim husband, knowing that the father later embraced Islam and abandoned the child early on? Is this child considered an orphan, and does the new husband's sponsorship of this child guarantee him the companionship of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in Paradise?

A child is not called an orphan as long as his father is alive, because scholars have defined an orphan as "a young child who has not reached puberty and has lost his father."

Therefore, sponsoring this child does not fall under the Ahadith (prophetic narrations) regarding the virtue of sponsoring an orphan, but it does hold a great reward, as Islam encourages kindness to every living being.
