Is a loan offered by the government to young graduates as an alternative to employment permissible or forbidden?

1 min readAlso available in العربية

Scholars have agreed on the prohibition of a loan if it stipulates an increase, as it is usury. And every loan that draws a benefit has been forbidden. So, if the loan is usurious, meaning it stipulates the return of the amount with an increase, then it is not permissible to take it because it is a usurious contract. However, if the loans are good and non-usurious, meaning the borrower returns the same amount he took without an increase, then there is no harm in taking them and benefiting from them.
