Is it permissible to listen to the "Al-Mashari' for Religious Chanting" band, which belongs to "The Association of Islamic Charitable Projects in Lebanon" (Al-Ahbash), at Islamic celebrations, given that their chants are free of musical instruments, and that Al-Ahbash are not considered to be from Ahlus-Sunnah wal-Jama'ah?

The method of the Habashis (Ahbash) is deviant from the religion. They follow the methodology of the Jahmiyyah regarding the attributes of Allah, and the Jabriyyah regarding divine decree. They also possess dangerous esoteric ideas and revile the Companions. Sheikh Ibn Baz described them as a misguided group that should be boycotted and warned against. Inviting them to perform chants at a wedding may support them media-wise and financially, and entice the ignorant to become attached to them. Therefore, it is necessary to be wary of them.
