What is the ruling on a wife supplicating against her husband who mistreats her and seizes her money and rights, and what should she do to reclaim her rights and restore her faith?

Allah created the wife for great purposes, including love (mawaddah), mercy (rahmah), and tranquility (sakan), and commanded that they be treated with kindness (ma'ruf). Allah permitted non-bruising striking of the wife after the failure of admonition and shunning, provided that the face is not struck and there is no verbal abuse, and it is intended for discipline in cases where she abandons a duty or commits a forbidden act. What the husband did by hitting her head against the wall is foolishness and contrary to Islamic law. The wife's family bears responsibility for not verifying the husband's pledges before returning her to him. It is permissible to supplicate against an oppressor, and the supplication of the oppressed is answered. The oppressed woman has the right to demand her financial rights and seek khul' (divorce initiated by the wife), and to refer the matter to the Sharia court for justice. Divorce is a last resort, but it may be better than the continuation of harm.
