Why is the gestation period nine months, or nine months and ten days, and what is the evidence for that from the the Qur’an and Sunnah?

Practical matters do not need proof to establish them, such as night and day. Likewise, pregnancy, its usual duration is nine months, its minimum is six months, and its maximum is four years.
