Allamah Khalil is Khalil ibn Ishaq ibn Musa al-Maliki, known as Al-Jundi, and his title was Diya al-Din. He heard and studied under the scholars of his era in Arabic, Usul (principles of Islamic jurisprudence), and Maliki Fiqh. He taught, issued fatwas, and imparted knowledge. He wrote a commentary on Ibn al-Hajib's Mukhtasar in six volumes, and he also has a compendium on Fiqh. He passed away in the year 767 AH.
