Feseekh (salted fish) is permissible according to the preponderant opinion. Eating the Abū Qirdān bird (cattle egret) is permissible after its proper slaughter (tadhkiyah), so long as it does not have talons or feed on filth (jallalah). However, the Malikis permitted birds absolutely, even if they are jallalah or have talons, provided that consuming them does not cause harm to humans.
