What is the ruling on eating the meat of a falcon according to the four schools of thought, and what is the most preponderant opinion on that, and is its ruling related to the principle of istihsan (juristic preference)?

The falcon is one of the predatory birds. Its meat is not permissible to eat according to the Hanafis, Shafi'is, and Hanbalis. They based this on what Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrated: that the Prophet (peace be upon him) prohibited eating any animal with fangs and claws, whether it be a beast or a bird. As for the Malikis, eating its meat is permissible according to the well-known opinion.
