What is the difference between an 'ifrit, a devil (shayṭān), Iblīs, a jinn, khabath, and khabā'ith?

Satan refers to every evil one among the jinn, and an 'ifrit is one whose evil has intensified and whose power has grown. Iblis is from among the jinn, and he was named as such due to his despair of Allah's mercy. The jinn were named as such because they are unseen. 'Al-khubth' and 'al-khaba'ith' refer to detestable, reprehensible, or foul things. It is also said that 'al-khubth' refers to the male devils and 'al-khaba'ith' refers to the female devils.
