Do not deny the statement. State to the judge that you were angry and did not realize what you uttered, or that it slipped from your tongue unintentionally. Denying it might harm the wife and cause her to lose some of her rights. You must admit what happened if you are asked, because averting harm from oneself does not permit inflicting it upon others, as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "There should be no harm nor reciprocating harm."
